For those who think they don't need a photographer for their civil wedding...

Think again!

For obvious reasons, most couples choose to have an outdoor ceremony in summer.

Unfortunately, in Belgium - your legal marriage has to be concluded at city hall.

Some get married on Saturday morning, and manage to plan the rest of the day not far from there.

Because you have to get married in the neighborhood you are registered in. So, if you live in Schaerbeek, you have to get married in Schaerbeek. But what if you want to have your wedding in the Ardennes?

Well... You get married on a weekday.

My Saturdays in the high season of weddings are reserved for full-day documentations. But if you get married on Friday, or any other weekday, I might be able to stop by for an hour or two - to immortalize the signing of your official wedding document.

Anouk & Ruben arranged to have their civil wedding on the day before their religious outdoor ceremony at the Chalet Robinson.

They were dressed slightly more casual, but looked oh so stylish. Afterward, we took a short moment for some wedding portraits in the streets surrounding city hall. A short, but sweet encounter before the big day.

The next day...

So the next day I met the newlyweds at their home - to start capturing the preparations, before heading to the romantic Chalet Robinson for their outdoor ceremony and dinner.
